Sapana Kadel

Scientist at MiNK Therapeutics

Sapana Kadel has a diverse work experience in the scientific research field. Sapana currently works as a Scientist at MiNK Therapeutics since April 2021. Previously, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute from June 2020 to March 2021, where they conducted panel design and preliminary analyses to characterize immune cell types in breast cancer patients. Additionally, they performed co-culture experiments using primary human cells.

Prior to that, Sapana worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation from August 2019 to June 2020. There, they led a research project investigating sex differences in immune cells during influenza virus infections. Sapana utilized various techniques such as flow cytometry, Luminex, cytotoxicity assays, and scRNA-seq to characterize different lung immune cells and their functions.

Furthermore, Sapana was a Graduate Research Assistant at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation from January 2015 to July 2019. During this time, they focused on studying sex differences in innate immune cells using murine models. Sapana primarily conducted flow cytometry to characterize lung immune cells and performed functional assays to assess sex differences. Sapana also worked with type II allergic airway diseases and studied immune responses in male and female mice.

Finally, Sapana worked as a Tutor at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from January 2012 to April 2014, showcasing their dedication to education.

Sapana Kadel is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, starting in 2014 and expected to graduate in 2019. Sapana completed a summer internship in Microbiology and Immunology at the same institution in 2013, as well as another summer internship in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2012.

Prior to their time at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Sapana earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 2010 to 2014. Sapana also holds a High School Diploma in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the National School of Sciences in Nepal, which they obtained from 2007 to 2009.

Additionally, they have obtained a certification in the "Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) course" from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in August 2016. The institution that offered this certification is not specified.
