Richard Jones

Richard Jones has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Richard started their career at PayPoint in 2005, where they worked as a Systems Developer for six years. During their time there, Richard was involved in business strategy planning, project development and management, and application development in PHP, Java, Perl, and MySQL. Richard also handled general system administration tasks in a high-uptime/high-security environment.

In 2011, Richard joined Hargreaves Lansdown as a Web Developer and later moved to Future plc in the same year. At Future plc, they worked as a Systems Developer and was responsible for maintaining the PHP layer around a Solr/Lucene document store. Richard not only added new features to the software but also migrated the codebase from SVN to Git, integrated Statsd metric gathering, and created Vagrant VMs and Puppet modules for the team.

In 2020, Richard joined Kaluza as a Software Engineer before moving to Hey Mirza in 2022. At Hey Mirza, they initially served as the Lead Platform Engineer and later transitioned into the role of Engineering Manager in June 2023.
