Robert Hemmelgarn

Robert Hemmelgarn has extensive work experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly with the Boy Scouts of America. Robert held various senior leadership roles within the organization from 1990 to 2020, including overseeing membership recruitment, fundraising, staff leadership, volunteer relationships, financial oversight, and property management. Hemmelgarn also worked in various locations across the Midwest, including Chicago, South Bend, Indianapolis, Davenport, and Peoria. Additionally, they served as Director of Field Service and held other district-level positions. From 2016 to 2018, Hemmelgarn served as the Scout Executive/CEO for the Boy Scouts of America in the LaSalle Council. In 2018, they joined the Pathway to Adventure Council as the Director of Support Service/CFO until 2020. In 2022, Hemmelgarn became the Director of Facilities and Program for the Sioux Council, BSA, where they oversaw construction and development projects. Currently, they are the Senior Director of Facilities and Operations for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
