Sophie Ames

Sophie Ames is Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer for Mitel. In her role, Sophie leads the company’s global human capital management innovation essential to the company’s growth journey.

Sophie is passionate about building talent management and development programs that reflect today’s new realities and underscore the connection between the company’s performance and the people that drive it. With a proven track record of building and leading world-class teams, Sophie is focused on initiatives that optimize the strategic value of Human Resources at Mitel.

A seasoned HR and business executive, Sophie brings 25 years of broad international experience enabling organizations through periods of transformation and growth, optimizing for scale, and building global cultures. Most recently, Sophie served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for ServiceMax and prior to that for Veritas Technologies. Her experience spans organizations in enterprise data management, cloud communications, CRM, and professional information services. She has also led sales enablement and internal communications teams.

Sophie holds a bachelor’s degree in business and applied foreign languages from Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France and recently obtained the NACD Directorship Certification. She also serves as an EMBA Advisory Board Member for Santa Clara University Graduate Business School.
