Nolan also developed tools to quantify subjective criteria using image analysis tools, particle tracking, and machine learning.

Nolan's earlier work experience includes roles at Oxford Brookes University as a Motorsport Engineering Graduate Student from September 2015 to September 2016, at Bosch as an ABS Applications Performance Lead from March 2011 to September 2015, at Kettering University as a Research Assistant from January 2010 to February 2011, at Saleen as an Engineering Co-Op from January 2008 to October 2008, and at Liquid Molding Systems as an Engineering Co-Op from January 2006 to November 2007.
