Emily Olson

Director Of Alumni Programming at Morehead-Cain Foundation

Emily Olson has a diverse work experience in alumni engagement and development. Emily started their career at AJE - American Journal Experts as a Contract Editor in October 2013. In March 2014, they transitioned to the Morehead-Cain Foundation, where they worked as a Development Assistant. During their time there, they progressed through various roles, including Development and Communications Coordinator and Alumni Engagement Coordinator. From August 2019 to August 2021, they held the position of Alumni Engagement Manager at the foundation. Currently, Emily holds the role of Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement at the Morehead-Cain Foundation, where they are responsible for managing alumni engagement initiatives, development operations, and the Alumni to Scholar Mentoring Program. Emily has successfully implemented various programs and events, such as the triennial Alumni Forum, the Regional Events Program, and the Alumni Speaker Series. Furthermore, they have contributed to the growth of alumni participation and cash received through effective financial tracking and reporting. Overall, Emily Olson has accumulated a wealth of experience in alumni engagement and development.

Emily Olson's education history is as follows:

From 2009 to 2013, they attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Art History.

Prior to that, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Art History and Archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis.

Earlier in their education, they attended the University of Arizona from 2003 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology and Classics.

In addition to their formal education, Emily Olson has obtained additional certifications. In 2018, they completed the UNC Business Essentials program at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. More recently, in August 2022, they obtained a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
