Scientist I, Fresh Produce at Mori

Utsala is a Scientist in the Food Research team at MORI, focusing on fresh produce. She has previously worked with applied soil-plant-fungal interactions, focusing on plant disease management via biological/anaerobic soil disinfestation and endophytic/associative fungi in horticulture production systems. Data/Meta analysis and data visualization are also her expertise. She has a motto in life to work for 3S’s (Safe food, Safe environment and Safety of People) and at MORI she is excited to work in a team to attain 3S and contribute to plant health and fighting food loss.

She received her PhD in Horticulture with a minor in Plant Pathology from Butler lab at the University of Tennessee. After that, she worked as postdoctoral research associate in Butler and Ownley labs at the University of Tennessee.
