We are looking for a motivated Program Support Worker to join our BC Settlement and Integration (BCSIS) team!

POSITION FUNCTION:

  • Under the supervision of the Manager of BC Settlement and Integration Services, this position is responsible for providing support to the coordinator or manager, staff and/or clients through effective, timely delivery of administrative and clerical assistance.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer calls, open and process mail, faxing, filing, photocopying, emailing, minute-taking, and word processing documents for the manager and staff as needed.

  • Collect, monitor, and compile client profile and intake information, day-to-day program statistics, and quantitative data as required, and input them into the appropriate databases in a timely manner.

  • Provide administrative support for reports, client records, and forms.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to client information.

  • Prepare flyers, leaflets, and advertising for program as required.

  • Verify accounting codes and process invoices related to program/departmental costs.

  • Maintain the inventory and order office/program supplies.

  • Assist staff to plan special events for clients and act as a central contact for special events

  • Perform administrative tasks: answer inquiries about the programs/projects; file documents; produce documents and spreadsheets; code invoices, enter/record financial data and other data, track applicants and update database.

  • Understand and participate in the evaluation of the program or project; assists with administration of feedback surveys

  • Support clients: register clients; maintain client records; provide information/referrals and orientation; additional support as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS

  • Have a working knowledge of newcomer experiences in Canada, especially refugees and refugee claimants
  • Have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, publishing software, databases, and the ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

HOURS: 35 hours per week. This is a fixed term Maternity Leave replacement position. 

Candidate must be able to commute to HQ (Boundary, Vancouver) Office.

BENEFITS:
