Jamilyn Keeton has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and responsibilities.

Jamilyn started their career in 2016 as a work study student at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where they worked in the Student Union and later joined the Rowdy Corps. In these roles, they gained experience in publishing articles, troubleshooting technical issues, and educating young girls on social justice and reproductive health.

In 2018, Jamilyn joined Urban Institute as a Research Intern, where they worked on multiple projects simultaneously, including proposal editing, data collection and analysis, and writing reports. Jamilyn then moved on to Common Ground Strategy as a Volunteer Coordinator, where they coordinated volunteers for roundtable discussions on displacement prevention and assistance.

Jamilyn's most recent and extensive work experience is with MOVE Texas, where they held various roles. Jamilyn started as an Operations Associate, overseeing finance and administrative operations, payroll processing, and financial reporting. Jamilyn then became an Operations Manager, responsible for progressive policies, revolutionary finance systems, and equity and inclusion practices. As the Operations Director, they oversaw the Finance Operations, Compliance Operations, and People Operations departments, building and maintaining standard procedures and training employees. Currently, they hold the position of Finance Operations Director, leading a team of managers and associates.

Throughout their work experience, Jamilyn has demonstrated skills in operations management, finance, human resources, IT, policy planning, and volunteer coordination. Jamilyn has a strong focus on equity, inclusion, and anti-racist practices. Time management and multitasking are key strengths that they have developed while working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Jamilyn Keeton obtained their Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from San Antonio College, where they studied from 2013 to 2016. Jamilyn then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration at The University of Texas at San Antonio, completing their studies from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, they participated in the Bill Archer Fellowship Program at The University of Texas System. In terms of certifications, Jamilyn obtained the Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) from FMA in July 2020 and later achieved the Advanced Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) from BDO FMA in February 2023.
