Richard Jacob

Volunteer Tour Guide at MIM, Musical Instrument Museum

Richard Jacob has extensive experience in academia and community engagement, currently serving as a Volunteer Tour Guide at the Musical Instrument Museum since March 2019, where relevant STEM programs for school groups and adults are facilitated. At Arizona State University since 2001, Richard holds the title of Professor Emeritus and contributes as Associate Dean and Editor of the Emeritus Voices journal, among other roles. Richard was appointed the founding Dean of the Emeritus College in 2004 after successfully proposing its establishment. Additionally, Richard served on the Board of Trustees for the Arizona State Retirement System from 2013 to 2017, overseeing significant pension management responsibilities. Previously, Richard had a long tenure at ASU as a Professor of Physics from 1963 to 2001, following a PhD in Physics from the University of Utah.
