Matthew Mahlin

Matthew Mahlin is an experienced Aerospace Research Engineer at NASA, focusing on carbon-carbon composites for robotic systems in in-space assembly since June 2015. Notable contributions include leading testing for the TALISMAN robotic arm and previously serving as a Trainee Engineer in the Prototype Development Lab, where Matthew designed command consoles for the Launch Control Center. Prior to NASA, Matthew interned at NASA Langley Research Center, conducting high-temperature materials research and developing indoor GPS emulation for robotics. Matthew holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where involvement included managing pollution prevention initiatives and teaching thermal fluids laboratories. Additional experience includes roles as a summer camp counselor and software development intern.
