John Swanson Cfps

John Swanson, CFPS, has extensive experience in fire safety and code compliance. Currently serving as a Codes and Standards Specialist at the National Fire Sprinkler Association since November 2021, John previously held various positions, including Contract Instructor at the International Code Council and Owner of Fire & Life Safety Consulting, LLC. As a Deputy State Fire Marshal for the Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division from November 2002 until 2021, John inspected schools and reviewed architectural and engineering plans for fire safety across Minnesota. Additional roles include Risk Engineer at Coda Risk Analysis and representation on multiple state and national code development committees. John obtained a BA in History and Business from the University of Sioux Falls between 1995 and 1999.
