Shawna Farquharson is a highly experienced professional in the field of medical imaging and neuroscience, currently serving as a Scientific Committee Advisor for the International Society for Tractography since June 2024. Farquharson has held the position of NIF Senior Scientist and National Coordinator for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at the National Imaging Facility since 2022. From 2007 to 2022, Farquharson was the Chief MRI Research Radiographer, Facility Manager, and National Imaging Facility Fellow at The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. Prior roles include Senior Medical Imaging Technologist - MRI at The Royal Children's Hospital from 2003 to 2007, Senior I Radiographer - MRI at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust from 1997 to 2003, and Radiographer at Royal London Hospital - Barts Health NHS Trust from 1995 to 1997. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience from Monash University, a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Hertfordshire, and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences - Magnetic Resonance Imaging from the University of Sydney.
