Robert Alpern

Robert Alpern, P.E. currently serves as Branch Chief in the Technical Support Branch of the Division of Technical Resources at the National Institutes of Health since December 2020. Prior experience includes roles as Sr. Project Engineer at Unither Pharmaceuticals, where Robert led the expansion of a Single-Use Blow-Fill-Seal site, and at Kedrion Biopharma, overseeing a $100M blood plasma facility project. Additional engineering roles at Merck involved managing capital projects for vaccine and biologics manufacturing and developing innovative engineering solutions. Robert's early career included co-op positions at Lockheed Martin, Johnson & Johnson, and Tufts University. Robert holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomedical from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
