Francesca C. Forrestal

Francesca C. Forrestal is a Research Ecologist at NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration since February 2020, with previous experience as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Cooperative Institute of Marine and Atmospheric Science from January 2016 to February 2020. Francesca completed a PhD in Marine Biology and Fisheries at the University of Miami, where research as a PhD Candidate occurred from 2010 to January 2016. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation and NOAA, as well as serving as a Captain and Marine Science Instructor at ActionQuest, along with an Assistant Marine Scientist position at Seamester. Francesca holds a Master of Science in Marine Affairs and Policy/Marine Biology from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Education also includes attendance at The Nightingale-Bamford School and The Island School.
