Jessa Houghton

Senior Research Associate at Nature's Fynd

Jessa Houghton has had a diverse range of work experiences. Jessa began their career in 2015 as a Statistician for the University of Vermont Athletic Department, a role they held until 2017. In 2017, they transitioned to the University of Vermont Biology Department as a Research Assistant, where they worked until 2019. During this time, they also served as a Marine Conservation Intern for the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center from June to July 2018. In 2019, they became a Native Trout Conservation Intern for the National Park Service, Student Conservation Association from June to September, and a Fisheries Research Technician for the Montana Cooperative Fishery Research Unit from September to December.

Jessa'smost recent position is with Nature's Fynd, where they started as a Research Associate in January 2020. Jessa was later promoted to Senior Research Associate in July 2022, a role they currently hold.

Jessa Houghton attended the University of Vermont from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Zoology. In addition to their academic studies, they also obtained several certifications. In June 2018, they received the Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI. Around the same time, they also obtained the Level II Reef Surveyor certification from the Reef Environmental Education Foundation. In May 2018, Jessa earned the Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
