Paul Hovley

Paul Hovley has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Paul is currently working as the SVP of Engineering at Nerd United starting from May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at 350 Labs as the Chief Technology Officer, where they focused on entrepreneurship, consulting, and solving problems with technology. During their time at 350 Labs, they mentored a team of four developers.

From 2021 to 2022, Paul served as the SVP of Engineering at QSciences. Here, they implemented scalable and redundant development processes, pivoted strategies, and optimized deployments. Paul also prototyped a system for in-house vendor data management and integrated in-house commissioning with Magento.

Before that, Paul worked as the Director of Development at Hoverstate from 2018 to 2019. Paul'srole involved managing a team to build and deliver web and mobile applications for clients. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Slate Development, first as a CTO, responsible for building team development processes and organizing the deployment and delivery of client applications. Paul then transitioned to an Android and Rails Developer role.

Paul's career started at InnateMobile in 2016, where they co-founded the company and served as an Android Developer. Paul led a team to develop native iOS and Android applications for events and successfully delivered products on a constrained budget and scope.

Prior to that, they worked as a Systems Designer and Financial Assistant at Evolve Solar from 2014 to 2016, an Android/Web Developer at BYU Studies in 2014, and an Accounting Assistant/Marketing Editor at Sewell Development Corp. from 2012 to 2014.

Paul Hovley earned both their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Management Information Systems and Software Development from Brigham Young University. Paul attended the university from 2011 to 2017.
