William H. Sanders

Founder and Consultant at Network Perception

William H. Sanders has a long and varied career in the field of engineering. William H. began their career in 1988 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona. William H. was promoted to Associate Professor in the same department two years later. In 1994, they joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. William H. also served as the Department Head, Interim Department Head, Director of the Coordinated Science Laboratory, and Director of the Information Trust Institute during their time there. In 2009, they co-founded the Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC) in Singapore and served as its Associate Director. In 2014, they founded and became a Consultant for Network Perception. In 2018, they joined the University of Illinois System as the Interim Director of the Discovery Partners Institute. Finally, in 2020, they were appointed as the Dean of the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

William H. Sanders obtained their Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1988. William H. also received an M.S.E. in Computer, Information, and Control Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1985, and a B.S.E. in Computer Engineering from the same university in 1983.
