Carly Swanson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Carly is currently working as an Emergency Response Coordinator (Deputy Chief) at New Gold Inc. since March 2022.

Afterward, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in DMet (Meteorology) from Dalhousie University, attending from 2012 to 2013. Over the years, Carly has also received various certifications in emergency response and firefighting. Carly obtained training in NFPA 1001 - Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 as well as NFPA 472 - Hazardous Operations and Materials from Training Division between 2019 and 2020. Additionally, they completed an Emergency Medical Responder course at St Johns Ambulance in 2020 and received training in NFPA 1006 Level 1 Operations at Spectrum Safety Group in 2022.
