Head, Human Resources at New Gold

Sharon Giraudel is the current Director of Human Resources at New Gold. Sharon has over twenty years of experience in the field of Human Resources, specializing in Talent and Leadership Development. Sharon has worked for various companies including Vale Canada Limited and Kraft Canada Inc. In their most recent position, they were responsible for developing and leading the Global Talent and Leadership Development Strategy for the Base Metals Division with Operations in Canada, Brazil, China, Japan, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Canada and United Kingdom. Some of their key projects and initiatives include the Leadership and Development Strategy, Development and Launch of Base Metals Champions Program, Executive Leader Led Cafés, Global Key Role & Successor review, “The Base Metals Story” – Understanding our Business, Women of Influence Virtual Peer Learning Program, Global Trainee Program, Culture of Performance Leadership Training, Launch of Base Metals Career Centre (Canada & UK) and Resource Guide for Leadership Competency Development.

Sharon Giraudel has a Bachelor of Business Management in Human Resources from Ryerson Polytechnic University, and a Masters in Leadership and Development from the University of Calgary. Sharon is also certified as a Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance and as a Certified Human Resources Leader from the HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association.
