Louise Sandford

Louise Sandford is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in science operations, management, and cancer research. Currently serving as the Science Operations and Optimisation Manager and Operational Leader at Scion since July 2017, Louise has also held key management roles in the Biopolymers & Chemicals and Wood & Fibre teams. Prior to this, Louise worked at The Cancer Society of New Zealand from March 2011 to July 2017, where responsibilities included managing research contracts, advocating for skin cancer control, and overseeing a charity partnership with the International Cricket Council during the Cricket World Cup. Earlier positions included Health Promotion Adviser at the Cancer Society of NZ Otago and Southland Division and Senior Lab Demonstrator at the University of Otago. Louise holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Science from the University of Otago.
