Nicole Bertrand

Nicole Bertrand's work experience includes various roles in software development, teaching, and curriculum development. Beginning in 2015, they worked as an 8th grade math challenge geometry pre-practicum student teacher at Dedham Middle School. In 2016, they became a pre-calculus and algebra II student teacher at Waltham Sr High School. Nicole then transitioned into a high school mathematics and computer science teaching role at the same school from 2016 to 2020. Additionally, Nicole served as the Girls Who Code Boston Site Lead in 2018. In 2020, they pursued further education by attending the UNH Coding Boot Camp as a student. Nicole also worked as a curriculum and content developer at Mathspace from 2020 to 2021. Continuing their career in software development, Nicole joined ThriveDX (formerly HackerU) in 2021 as a curriculum/software engineer for software development until 2022. During the same year, they became a software development instructor at North Carolina State University for a brief period. Most recently, Nicole has been working at Newforma, first as a full-stack web developer starting in May 2022, and later as a full-stack web developer and scrum master from August 2022.

Nicole Bertrand obtained a Dual Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Boston College, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. In 2018, they pursued a Master's degree in Mathematics Education at Boston University, completing their studies in 2020. Additionally, Nicole attended UNSW in 2014, although specific details about their degree or field of study are not provided. Prior to their college education, they attended Berwick Academy from 2008 to 2012. Nicole also holds various certifications, including the Communications and Literacy Skills Test (MTEL) and the Mathematics Test (MTEL), both obtained in July 2015. In March 2020, they received a certification in Mathematics, Upper Level (Pre-Algebra to AP Math) from the Education, New Hampshire Department of institution.
