Devor Barton

Devor Barton has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They began their career as a Technician at AV Factory from 1997 to 1999. They then worked as the Coordinator of Audio-Visual Services at Safeco Insurance from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they served as the Assistant Director of Audio-Visual Services at Presentation Services for a brief period in 2004.

In 2004, Devor Barton joined Liberty Mutual Insurance, where they held various roles over a span of nine years. They started as a State Filings Analyst, responsible for communicating form and rate submissions to state departments of insurance. After that, they worked as a Product Analyst, and later as a Filings Compliance Analyst. In this role, they coordinated multiple projects to prepare and submit complex rate, rule, and form filings, liaised with governmental insurance departments, and analyzed regulatory changes. They also assessed compliance, performed risk assessments, and identified improvements in procedures.

In 2019, Devor Barton transitioned to Next Insurance. They initially worked as a Compliance Analyst, where they brought filings work in-house, trained colleagues, and managed relationships with external consultants and state regulators. They also administered filing resources and maintained documentation. Currently, they hold the position of Compliance Filings Manager, where they lead a team in facilitating form and rate filings, recruit and develop employees, and collaborate with Product Managers to manage filing needs. They also fulfill the duties of Director when needed.

Devor Barton has a diverse education history. They obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Penn State University from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, Devor pursued a Master of Science degree in Technical Communication with a Focus on User-Centered Design at the University of Washington. In 2005 to 2006, they also earned a Certification in Project Management from the same institution.

Devor's undergraduate education was completed at the University of Houston from 1992 to 1996. They earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in Communication/Radio-Television and English/Creative Writing. Before attending the University of Houston, Devor had completed high school at the Minnesota Center for Arts Education from 1990 to 1992, focusing on Creative Writing and Media Arts.

In addition to their formal education, Devor has acquired various certifications. These include "How to Confidently Negotiate Your Salary" and "Nano Tips to Foster a Growth Mindset and Mental Agility with Shadé Zahrai" from LinkedIn, obtained in May 2023. They also completed the certification "Speaking Up At Work" from LinkedIn in April 2023. Devor obtained fluency certifications in French and Spanish from Duolingo, with the most recent being in February 2016. Their earliest Duolingo fluency certification is from October 2015. Lastly, in April 2014, Devor achieved the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter certification from the American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.
