Job description

Alpine Bio is a plant genetics company transforming plants into the world's most regenerative protein factories. With a fully developed end-to-end bio-manufacturing platform Alpine Bio is poised to usher in a new age of hyper efficient protein production. Our first proof of concept protein, Casein, is a complex and unstructured dairy protein that gives cheese its stretch, melt, and much of its protein nutrients.  We are beginning public tastings of our animal-free mozzarella via our brand Nobell Foods in 2025 and are quickly expanding into other high value proteins.

Your Role 

You will play a key role in the Plant Transformation Team developing and carrying out R&D and production projects that are aimed at creation of better foods.

  • Carry out soybean transformation experiments to support R&D and production effort 
  • Develop innovative methods, techniques, and approaches for plant tissue culture and transformation
  • Develop protocol and SOPs, quality control, troubleshoot & analysis data
  • Provide intellectual property expertise by identifying patentable inventions and support their filings
  • Effectively communicate results, progress, innovations & challenges to peers and senior management
  • Collaborate with other A’ R&D in enhancing the company’s gene discovery and product development process 

Attributes

  • Master/PhD in Plant Biology or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience or Bachelor in Plant Biology or related field with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art technologies, platforms, and scientific methodologies as applied to plant transformation
  • The ability to present clear, concise data analyses to a multidisciplinary audience
  • Experience working with soybeans and other crop species in an industrial laboratory setting
  • A sense for industrial scale pipelines with a keen eye for process improvements and scale-up
  • An exceptional track record of scientific contributions and accomplishments
  • Self-motivated with strong desire to both learn from and teach others

The pay range is currently between $91,000 to $150,000 in annual gross compensation. Within the range, individual pay is determined by many factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
