Runar Gjerp Solstad

Runar Gjerp Solstad is a Senior Scientist at Nofima, with experience in securing funding for applied research that addresses industry challenges, and previously focused on enhancing the value of marine raw materials. Prior roles include Scientist, Research Technician at the Institute of Marine Research, and PhD Candidate at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, where the research targeted antimicrobial peptides from marine sources. Runar has also held various positions in customer service and instruction, including Climbing Instructor and Receptionist at Studentidrettshallen Kraft, as well as practical roles in the military as a Navy diver and in the Norwegian Army. Educational qualifications encompass a PhD and Master's in Marine Biotechnology from UiT, with additional studies in protein mass spectrometry and immunology.
