Our Company: North Carolina FC Youth (NCFC Youth) is a non-profit youth soccer organization home to more than 16,000 players (ages 2.5-19) and their families each year. Through full-service programming, NCFC Youth offers youth soccer for all levels of play – from Recreation and outreach programs up to the highest levels of elite competition. In addition, NCFC Youth hosts tournaments, camps, and other events to ensure the best player development opportunities.
NCFC Youth’s on and off field operations are supported by more than 1,700 personnel including full-time staff, seasonal coaches, and volunteer coaches. In collaboration with the professional North Carolina Football Club, home to NC Courage (NWSL) and North Carolina FC (USL Championship), NCFC Youth is the largest youth-to-professional club in the country and offers a pipeline of player development including U-23s, amateur & academy contracts, and professional contracts in addition to coaching development opportunities.

The Position: Reporting to the Director of Tournaments and Facility Events, the Tournaments and Events Intern is expected to assist in the planning and execution of NCFC Youth’s Tournaments. This is a seasonal position designed as a 30-40 hour/week position starting mid-late August and ending December 20.
Essential Functions:
Tournaments and Events
Fall League Season
Compile post weekend reports for scoring, reporting, and discipline.
Assist with the tracking of post event match reports and upcoming referee assignments.
Ensure NCFC Youth Team schedules through Playmetrics match referee schedules in Arbiter and publicly posted schedules.
Complete data entry related tasks as provided by the NCFC Youth Director of Referees.
Qualifications/Competencies:
This position is designed for current college students looking for an internship type environment to progress their studies.
Experience working in soccer, coaching soccer, and/or playing soccer a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Strong working knowledge and comfort working with Microsoft software, including Word and Excel.
Job Type Requirements:
This internship is an hourly nonexempt paid position.
The traditional work hours for this job are combined office hours during the day/week along with evening and weekend hours on the field and at remote sites, but it is expected this person will work extra hours as needed to fulfill all job requirements.
Work Environment/Travel/Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Some of this person’s job is conducted in the office, but regularly, work will require this employee to attend outdoor youth sporting events during the summer, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather, to fulfill job responsibilities and event support.
Physical demands: bending, sitting, lifting, and event set-up.
