Elshan Aliyev

Elshan Aliyev has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Elshan started their career as a Production Technologist at Baku Crumb Company LLC in 2006. Elshan then worked as a Facility Engineer at McDermott International Inc. in 2008. In 2009, they joined SOCAR UPSTREAM as a Reservoir Engineer. In 2010, Aliyev joined BP, where they held various roles and responsibilities. Elshan started as a Petroleum Engineer and then moved up to become a Lead Petroleum Engineer, specializing in system modeling and optimization. In this role, they played a leading role in scoping, designing, and deploying system optimization for an asset with multiple platforms and wells. Aliyev also provided technical support and problem-solving on integrated asset modeling throughout BP Azerbaijan's portfolio. Additionally, they developed training material and provided training/coaching to others. Elshan was also involved in promoting and coordinating the PTL process and implementing Slug Controller/Drawdown Controller Technology. In 2018, Aliyev joined North Oil Company Qatar as a Senior Petroleum Engineer, where they are currently employed.

Elshan Aliyev has a diverse education history in the field of petroleum and natural gas engineering, as well as finance. In 2016, they began pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, which they completed in 2020.

Prior to their PhD studies, in 2012, Elshan Aliyev obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Finance, with a specialization in General Finance, from KIMEP University.

Before their finance studies, from 2010 to 2012, Elshan Aliyev pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University.

Additionally, Elshan Aliyev holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering, which they obtained from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in 2010.
