Vahan Hovhannisyan has a diverse work experience ranging from research and engineering roles to teaching and entrepreneurship. Vahan started their career as a Software Developer at ZenteQ.AM in 2009 and then worked as a Student Assistant at ETH Zurich from 2010 to 2013. In 2012, they pursued a Master's Thesis at IBM Research Zurich. Vahan then joined Imperial College London as a Graduate Teaching Assistant/Tutor in 2014 and later became a Guest Teacher at The London School of Economics and Political Science, where they taught Operations Management and Operational Research Methods.

In 2017, Vahan participated in the Entrepreneur First program as an EF9 Cohort Member. Vahan also co-founded Indagio, a company focused on utilizing computer vision for broadcast and sports analytics industries, where they served as the CTO. Concurrently, they held a Visiting Lecturer position at Imperial College London's Business School.

Vahan joined nPlan in 2018 and played a significant role in building the company's machine learning research function as the Research Director. Vahan led the development of the company's research strategy, managed machine learning research and data science teams, and oversaw external collaborations, academic publications, and patent applications. Prior to this role, they served as a Machine Learning Engineer at nPlan, where they built the company's initial machine learning pipeline and led the team as a Senior MLE to deliver the first ML products.
