Kimmi Ko

Kimmi Ko has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Kimmi recently worked as a Lead Service Designer at NSW Department of Education. Prior to that, Kimmi worked as a Casual Academic at UNSW from September 2022 to July 2023. Kimmi also has experience as a Freelance Senior Interior, Experiential, and Environmental Designer since June 2017. Kimmi has a background in research and academia, having worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and PHD Candidate at The University of Queensland and the University of Sydney respectively. In addition, they have worked as a Research Assistant and Casual Academic at the University of Sydney. Kimmi also worked as a Design Tutor and Casual Academic at UNSW Global. Earlier in their career, they worked at Imagination as a Senior 3D Designer and Senior Designer, and at George P Johnson as a 3D Designer. Kimmi also has experience as a Creative Director and Exhibition Designer at a privately owned Exhibition and Event Company. Overall, Kimmi Ko's work experience showcases their expertise in design, research, academia, and leadership roles.

Kimmi Ko started their education in 2001 at UNSW, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design in 2004. Kimmi then pursued their Master's degree in Design at UNSW from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they attended Politecnico di Milano for a Master's degree in Design for a duration of one year.

From 2009 to 2017, Kimmi Ko pursued their Masters in Philosophy in Design at UNSW. Kimmi then transferred to the University of Sydney in 2018 to continue their studies towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design Innovation. Kimmi completed their PhD at the University of Sydney in 2020.

After completing their doctorate at the University of Sydney, Kimmi Ko furthered their education at The University of Queensland. From 2021 to 2022, they pursued another Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design Innovation at this university.
