Rheuben Freelander

Head Of Communications at NSW Government

Rheuben Freelander has a strong background in communications and media, with experience in various roles across different organizations. Starting in 2013 as an Electorate Officer for the Parliament of NSW, they then worked as a Policy Advisor for the Deputy Leader of the NSW Opposition & Shadow Minister for Education from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, Rheuben became a Senior Policy and Media Advisor for Hon Linda Burney, Shadow Minister for Human Services. Rheuben then joined the Business Council of Australia in 2017, where they held multiple roles including Director of Media and External Communications and Head of Media. Currently, Rheuben Freelander is the Head of Communications for the NSW Government, starting in May 2023.

Rheuben Freelander completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government at the University of Sydney from 2009 to 2012.
