Niels Leadholm

Niels Leadholm has a varied work experience. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Research Technician at the University of Bristol. From 2015 to 2016, they were an F1 Doctor at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. In 2016, they became an F2 Doctor at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. From 2017 to 2020, they were a Locum Doctor at the NHS, a PhD Candidate at the University of Oxford, and a Visiting Researcher at Numenta. In 2019, they were a Machine Learning Micro-Intern at Modux. Finally, in 2021 they became a Co-Founder & Director at Medincle Ltd., a profitable software company that distributes a biomedical plugin to spellcheckers and speech recognition software. Niels currently holds the role of Senior Research Scientist at Numenta.

Niels Leadholm has a varied educational background. Niels attended Jakarta Intercultural School before enrolling at the University of Bristol for a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) in 2009, which they completed in 2015. Niels then pursued a Bachelor of Cancer Biology & Immunology (BSc) at the University of Bristol from 2011 to 2012. In 2017, they began a doctoral program at the University of Oxford in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership with a focus in Theoretical Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Niels is currently enrolled in an Open Degree program at The Open University with a focus in Applied Mathematics. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Introduction to Computer Science and Programming from Coursera and edX.
