Mark Gaffney

Mark Gaffney has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and research fields. Mark started their career at Alltech in 2003 as a research intern, where they conducted research on lactase enzyme production and gene expression. After completing their Ph.D., they continued working at Alltech as a Ph.D. researcher, focusing on cataloguing research findings and ensuring laboratory compliance. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a research associate at Alltech, where they specialized in synthesizing and evaluating novel antimicrobial solutions for the animal feed sector. Mark also resolved cultivation issues in fungal fermentations. In 2013, they became a research project manager at Alltech, leading projects on natural crop solutions and scientific communication. Most recently, Mark Gaffney joined Nuritas in 2019 as the head of manufacturing, where they combine AI and genomics to discover and unlock natural bioactive peptides for health benefits.
