Jorge Viamontes

Jorge Viamontes has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Jorge started their career at Shell, where they held various roles including petrophysicist, reservoir engineer, and subsurface team leader. In these positions, they were responsible for conducting reservoir engineering projects, performing reservoir modeling, and optimizing oil recovery. Jorge also played a role in research and development, collaborating with experts in core analysis and developing new equipment and software.

In 2011, Jorge joined QRI as a senior reservoir engineer and team lead. Jorge was involved in leading reservoir engineering work for the Akal and Sihil fields at the Cantarell complex operated by PEMEX. Jorge successfully grew the contract revenue for the company.

In 2014, Jorge joined NUTECH - Visionary Reservoir Intelligence, where they founded and managed the reservoir engineering department. Jorge later became the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the operational performance of NUTECH, managing integrated consulting projects, and providing technical assurance for reservoir engineering projects.

Throughout their career, Jorge has demonstrated strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a track record of driving revenue growth and operational success.

Jorge Viamontes started their education journey in 1998 at the University of Rochester, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics, with a minor in economics. Jorge completed their undergraduate studies in 2000.

Afterwards, they enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington in 2000 to pursue a Master's degree in physics, which they completed in 2001.

Jorge furthered their education at Brown University from 2002 to 2005, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in experimental physics. Their field of study during this program was specifically focused on physics.
