Nyobolt is seeking a talented and experienced Field Support Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-performance battery packs and testing systems for both internal and customer development programs across the United States. Your expertise will help drive the deployment and testing of advanced battery technologies, working closely with customers, contract manufacturers, and multidisciplinary teams in the UK and USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Support: Provide hands-on support at client and contract manufacturer locations, ensuring successful execution of external verification activities.
- Test Development and Execution: Create and implement verification test plans for battery pack systems, meeting stringent customer requirements.
- Issue Resolution: Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Interpret test data and deliver actionable insights through detailed reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Quality Management: Collaborate with the Director of HSEQ to lead quality assurance processes, including 8D problem-solving, to address and mitigate field issues.
- Customer Liaison: Act as the primary customer contact for field issues, ensuring smooth deployment of battery products.
- Lab Management: Supervise application lab operations, ensuring safety, organization, and proper management of lab equipment procurement and commissioning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a test engineering role, ideally in product development.
- Proficiency in analyzing and debugging electronic circuits and components using lab equipment.
- Familiarity with PCB design and fabrication, including the ability to interpret electronic schematics.
- Experience developing and executing automated tests with tools like LabVIEW.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C#).
- Understanding of industry standards and certification processes.
- Willingness to work in person regularly and travel to customer and contract manufacturer locations as needed (approximately 20% travel).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven success in a similar or customer-facing role.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with over 5 years of experience.
- Expertise in lithium-ion battery chemistry, battery pack design, and battery management systems.
- Familiarity with UL standards and certification processes.
- Proficiency in test automation tools like LabVIEW or TestStand.
- Experience with National Instruments (NI) data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN or Bluetooth.
