Niko Dawson

Niko Dawson has held various positions throughout their career. Most recently, they worked as the Chief of Field Operations at the Oakland County Community Corrections in 2022. In this role, they supervised departmental unit employees, reviewed reports on inmate status, and assisted the court with bonding considerations and sentencing alternatives.

Prior to this, Dawson served as the Director at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit from 2019 to 2022. They were responsible for implementing the "Flip the Script (FTS)" program model, coordinating client supports and job placement, maintaining partnerships with community partners, and preparing reports for funding sources and accreditation agencies.

From 2015 to 2022, Dawson worked as the Dean of Economic & Community Development at Washtenaw Community College. Their responsibilities included providing strategic direction for non-traditional classes, employer services, and community events, coordinating contracted education with employers and regional groups, and managing the development of non-credit class schedules.

From 2007 to 2015, Dawson held the position of Director of Economic & Workforce Development at Oakland Community College. In this role, they focused on establishing business and community relationships, delivering training programs for workforce and economic development, and obtaining funds and resources through partnerships and grant activities.

Niko Dawson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Grambling State University between 1989 and 1994.
