Mike McNeney

Mike McNeney is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Writing Services Lead at the Office of the Auditor General of British Columbia since August 2021. In this role, Mike manages and participates in writing, editing, and proofreading for various materials aimed at both internal and external audiences. Prior to this, Mike held the position of Senior Public Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, where responsibilities included delivering communications planning and media relations support. As an independent contractor from August 2017 to June 2021, Mike provided writing and editing services across various sectors. Mike's extensive experience includes roles as Editor of the UVic Torch Alumni Magazine and Communications Officer for the BC Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as well as a background in broadcast journalism. Mike has pursued further education, earning a Certificate in Plain Language from Simon Fraser University and a Diploma in Humanities (English) from the University of Victoria, alongside a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
