David McGonigal

David McGonigal has a solid work experience with a focus on the energy sector. David currently works as a Policy Manager at Ofgem since July 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant at ERM from April 2022 to July 2023. David also gained experience as an Associate at The Renewables Consulting Group from February 2022 to March 2023. In addition, David worked as a Strategic Environmental Assessment Officer at The Scottish Government from February 2021 to February 2022.

David McGonigal obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Marine Biology from Heriot-Watt University between 2015 and 2019. David then pursued a Master of Science degree in Marine Systems & Policies from The University of Edinburgh from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including Renewable Energy from the University of Colorado Boulder in August 2022, Outsmarting Intermittency from École Polytechnique in February 2022, MOOC Marine Litter (Expert Track) from the UN Environment Programme in September 2019, and Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
