Elena Botella

Elena Botella has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries and roles. Elena is currently working as a Principal at Omidyar Network, where they focus on the Corporations and Capital Markets agenda, supporting grantees and leaders in their efforts to promote inclusivity and equity in society. Prior to this, Elena worked as a Writer, authoring the book "Delinquent: Inside America's Debt Machine" and writing for publications such as American Banker, Slate, The Nation, and Forbes.

Before their writing career, Elena spent several years at Capital One, where they held roles such as Senior Business Manager and Business Analyst. Elena'sresponsibilities included analytics, statistical modeling, customer research, and P&L ownership for a multi-billion dollar loan portfolio. Elena also held leadership positions in political organizations, serving as President of both the College Democrats of North Carolina and Duke Democrats. Elena's work experience also includes internships and research assistant positions at Nkokonjeru Savings and Credit Cooperative and Duke Political Union.

Elena Botella holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Economics from Duke University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. Elena also studied Political Philosophy at the New College of Oxford University in 2011. Before their university education, they completed their International Baccalaureate Diploma at Myers Park HS from 2005 to 2009. Elena has also obtained certifications in R Programming and The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera Verified Certificates, although the exact months of completion are unknown.
