Gary Foster

Gary Foster has worked as a software engineer since 2014. Gary'sfirst role was at Copper, where they worked as a Software Engineer. In 2016, they joined StudioLabs as a Senior Full-stack Developer. In this role, they built a UI library foundation of reusable components to integrate into several web apps using React, Storybook, and Chromatic. Gary also established a fast-paced, intensive SDLC by adopting unit-testing, e2e-testing, and CI/CD pipeline. Additionally, they coordinated with designers to discuss the UI/UX design of the application and improved performance by 120% by migrating the customer-facing app from React to Next. On the back-end, they built a cloud-native application on top of serverless architecture using Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, AWS Lambda + API Gateway. Gary also worked closely with the CTO and product people to do system/database design and reduced response time by integrating the Redis cache. In 2021, Gary Foster joined Oncue as a Senior Front End Engineer.

Gary Foster received their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2013. Gary also holds a Triplebyte Certified certification from Triplebyte, which they obtained in January 2023.
