Hasan Sheikh Faridul

Hasan Sheikh Faridul, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Hasan is currently the Director of Applied Science at Onfido, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, Dr. Faridul was the Co-Founder & CEO of EYN, a company that was acquired by Onfido, where they worked from November 2016 to August 2021.

In 2016, Dr. Faridul participated in the Entrepreneur First program as part of the EF7 Cohort, exploring their entrepreneurial interests from September 2016 to March 2017. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist in Computer Vision at Safran Identity & Security from November 2015 to September 2016.

Dr. Faridul's early career includes roles at Technicolor, where they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Security & Content Protection Labs from January 2014 to June 2015, and as an R&D Engineer & Industrial PhD Candidate from December 2010 to December 2013. Hasan also gained research experience as a Research Intern at Technicolor R&D from February 2010 to September 2010.

Hasan'sprofessional journey began as a System Engineer at GrameenPhone Ltd. from November 2006 to August 2008.

Hasan Sheikh Faridul, PhD, has a strong educational background in computer science and expertise in computer vision. Hasan obtained their PhD in Computer Vision (Image, Vision, Signal) from Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, Hasan completed an Erasmus Mundus Masters program at the University of Eastern Finland in 2010, specializing in the field of study provided by the CIMET Master's degree program. In 2009, they also briefly attended the Erasmus Mundus Masters program at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne.

Hasan holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the Islamic University of Technology, which they earned between 2002 and 2006. Hasan began their higher education journey by completing a Higher Secondary Certificate program in Science at Notre Dame College from 2000 to 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Hasan has obtained several certifications in the field of technology. Hasan is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, having completed the SAP-C01 certification course through Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2022. Prior to that, they achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification in February 2022 (SAA-C02). Hasan's expertise also extends to machine learning, as they obtained the AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty certification (MLS-C01) in December 2018, further enhancing their skills and knowledge in this area.
