Saurabh Sharma

Saurabh Sharma has a diverse range of work experience in the field of applied sciences and engineering. Saurabh is currently working as a Senior Applied Scientist at Onfido since August 2021. Prior to this, Saurabh worked at KLA-Tencor for nearly 9 years, initially as an Algorithm Engineer from July 2012 to August 2015, and later as an Associate Technical Lead from September 2015 to the present. In their roles at KLA-Tencor, Saurabh focused on solving problems related to the SEM domain using machine learning techniques. Saurabh designed and delivered detection and classification systems, and also contributed to the cross-division data science team.

Before joining KLA-Tencor, Saurabh worked as a Junior Research Associate at Infosys Labs, Infosys from August 2011 to July 2012. In this role, they developed an Automated Mobile Testing System that involved a custom-designed robotic platform and image processing technology.

Saurabh's early work experience includes a research assistant position at IIIT Hyderabad from April 2007 to August 2011. During this time, they worked on a project focused on the detection of strokes in brain CT scans, aiming to develop a method applicable in developing economies where CT scans are more widely available.

Saurabh also had a research internship at GE Global Research in 2008, where they developed an algorithm for automatic identification and segmentation of infarct (brain stroke) lesions from diffusion weighted MR images and ADC maps. The results of this project were published in ISMRM in 2009.

Saurabh Sharma completed their education in the field of Computer Science. Saurabh first attended the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH) from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology Honors (B.Tech Hons.) degree. Saurabh then pursued further education at the same institution from 2009 to 2011, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science.
