About us

At Onnu, our mission is to deliver what the world needs most – substantial and scalable carbon removal. Through a combination of our own projects and consultancy services, we help businesses transform their waste biomass into valuable biochar – removing carbon, reducing environmental impact and saving money. We do this using pyrolysis, a remarkable technology which offers renewable energy and carbon removal at the same time.

Our largest project to date will be tackling the environmental crisis in the Wye Valley with the launch of localised pyrolysis hubs for poultry manure. This project is the first of its kind and we’re excited to be expanding the potential for innovative carbon removal projects!

About the role

Day-to-day activities will include:

  • Developing, owning and managing Onnu’s marketing strategy

  • Helping to shape, define, and champion the brand

  • Working closely with the Product and Executive team to shape messaging in a product marketing-led way, deliver materials/ assets the teams

  • Driving campaigns that deliver meaningful results across the marketing funnel.

  • Building and managing the marketing team.

  • Managing and delivering an ongoing comms strategy and the creation of assets (PDFs, guides, webpages, videos) to improve client and partner experiences

  • Responsibility for creating and delivering a rolling content plan, working with our Product team to ensure it's compelling, purposeful and in sync with Onnu’s product's evolution

  • Overseeing relationships with 3rd party suppliers

  • Owning, setting and monitoring the marketing metrics and KPIs for our systems

  • Social media management: building our presence across LinkedIn and Twitter. Helping to create a community.

  • Measuring and sharing the results of all marketing campaigns - analysing and reporting on all activity to ensure we can make data-driven, informed decisions

The ideal candidate

  • More than 3 years’ experience of marketing

  • Desirable - 2 or more year's experience within the UK Sustainability or B2B green energy industry, (knowledge of carbon offsetting, SDGs, solar, wind, biomass energy etc)

  • Blend of strategic and operational experience

  • Good knowledge of digital, social, content and event marketing.

  • Good understanding of Social media, Email & Customer marketing strategy

  • Experience of driving lead generation through web channels

  • Can show both strategic thinking and operational experience
