Arthur Scott IV

Arthur Scott IV has a diverse work experience in design roles. Arthur is currently the Head of Design at OpenSolar, starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Google as a Senior Interaction Designer from April 2020 to January 2023. From November 2017 to March 2020, they served as a Sr. User Experience/User Interface/Visual Designer at Panoply.io, a cloud-based data warehouse company. Arthur also co-founded Volta LLC., an asset financing company that provides solar systems in West Africa for healthcare, education, and agriculture purposes, from March 2015 to March 2020. Before that, they worked as a Mobile UX Designer - Contract at Salesforce from August 2017 to November 2017. Additionally, Arthur was a Co-Founder of SFUN Corps, an organization that works on solar projects to address energy poverty and climate change, from April 2015 to November 2017. Arthur also worked as a UX Designer - Consultant at ShineHub for a short period in February 2017 to March 2017. Arthur gained experience as a UX Designer at Sungevity from January 2014 to March 2017, where they led the UI/UX design program and managed customer-facing digital properties. Arthur also served as the Manager of Visual Design at Sungevity from April 2013 to January 2014. Prior to that, Arthur worked at Automated Media Processing Solutions as a UX/UI Designer, Web/Mobile App Designer, Graphic Designer, and Marketing Project Manager from November 2009 to April 2013. Arthur began their career at M&S Autobody as a Custom Automotive & Website Designer from April 2010 to January 2011.

Arthur Scott IV has pursued a diverse education with a focus on design and renewable energy. In 2002, they enrolled at San Jose State University, where they studied General Design Studies with an emphasis on Industrial Design. Arthur completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Art in 2007.

After a gap of a few years, Arthur attended the San Francisco State College of Extended Learning in 2009 to earn a Professional Certification in Web Design Intensive for Business Professionals through the Multimedia Studies Program. In 2011, they continued their education at UC Berkeley Extension, engaging in a Professional Program in Solar Energy and Green Building, specifically focusing on Photovoltaics and Green Energy. This program was completed in 2012.

Arthur further expanded their skillset in 2015 when they pursued a Mobile UX/UI Design Intensive Certificate from the San Francisco State College of Extended Learning. This program was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of mobile user experience and user interface design.
