Megan Cristina

Megan Cristina is currently an advisor at OptimEyes.ai. Megan was previously with Piiano, Spectrum Labs, and OptimEyes AI. From May 2016 to March 2022, they were with Slack as their VP, Chief Privacy Officer & Data Protection Officer.

In their role at Slack, Megan led the cross-company, global team responsible for establishing Customer Care support for Yahoo! in emerging markets. Megan redefined internal and external processes for mitigating abuse of Yahoo! products and services. Additionally, they served as business manager supporting higher-risk, user-generated content product launches. For example, they provided follow-up support for product launches that reported user feedback to the business units to help inform product development roadmaps going forward.

Megan was also the primary representative for Customer Care with the internal Privacy and Policy team and the Data Governance Team. Megan documented policies and processes for internal departments to enlist Customer Care support. Furthermore, they designed requirements document for engineers to create a new tool to moderate abusive live streaming video content. Lastly, Megan served as the primary communication channel between legal, policy, the business unit, security, engineering, and customer care during preparation for launch of new high-risk products. During their time at Yahoo!, Megan actively participated in their internal mentoring program for 3+ years.

Megan Cristina has a Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University, and is certified by the IAPP as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP).
