Michael Hammond MBA CPA, CGA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations. Michael is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada since November 2022. Previously, they worked at the Privy Council Office as the Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Planning and Deputy Chief Financial Officer from August 2018 to December 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario from February 2017 to August 2018. Additionally, they held various roles at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, including Executive Director from June 2015 to February 2017, and Director from November 2011 to June 2015. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat from February 2008 to November 2011, and as a Senior Project Officer at Public Services and Procurement Canada from July 2005 to February 2008. Michael began their career as the Manager of Finance and Administration at the National Round Table on Environment and Economy from June 2002 to July 2005.

Michael Hammond earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from UBC Sauder School of Business between 1992 and 1998. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on the Global Omnium Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management from 2016 to 2018.
