Zhen Zhang

Zhen Zhang has extensive work experience in the field of biostatistics and medical research. They have held various roles in prominent pharmaceutical companies such as Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies, Pfizer, Eisai US, Eli Lilly and Company, and DowDuPont.

At Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies, Zhen Zhang currently serves as the Director and Statistics Group Lead for Medical & RWD Analytics. In this role, they provide statistical support for phase I-IV drug development in areas including CNS, Nephrology, and medical devices. Their responsibilities include study design, regulatory submissions, economic modeling, and market access.

Prior to their current role, Zhen Zhang worked at Pfizer as an Associate Director in Biostatistics for Inflammation & Immunology. Here, they led statistical analysis for phase 2 trials and first-in-human studies using novel adaptive designs. They also conducted systematic meta-analyses and played a key role in IND submissions and due diligence.

Before joining Pfizer, Zhen Zhang held the position of Associate Director in Biostatistics for Neurology at Eisai US. In this role, they led statistical analysis for phase 3 trials in Alzheimer's disease and conducted ad-hoc analysis for FDA drug submission. They also oversaw CRO and neuroimaging biomarkers.

Prior to Eisai US, Zhen Zhang worked as a Research Scientist in Statistics for Oncology at Eli Lilly and Company. They served as a study statistician for phase 1/2 oncology trials and provided support for adaptive design and biomarker enrichment in immuno-oncology portfolio and IND submissions.

Zhen Zhang began their career at DowDuPont as a Senior Analyst and Project Lead. They were involved in pre-clinical-type predictive safety/toxicology and helped develop statistical and AI/ML platforms for improved efficiency in molecule discovery and lab automation.

Overall, Zhen Zhang brings a breadth of experience in statistics, clinical trials, regulatory submissions, and drug development to their current role at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies.

Zhen Zhang completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2004 to 2008. Zhen then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics at Michigan State University, which they completed from 2008 to 2014. Following that, they served as a Postdoctoral scholar in Statistics at the University of Chicago from 2014 to 2016.
