Amro Younes

Amro Younes has a comprehensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Amro started their career in 1995 as a Software Designer at Newbridge Networks, where they were responsible for the infrastructure of Traffic Management and Call Control software. Amro also led a team in developing monitoring functions for Circuit Emulation and OC-3 Cell Relay cards. At Cisco Systems, from 1999 to 2009, Amro served as both a Senior Software Engineer and a Software Engineer, where they worked on platform and operating system infrastructure for a next-generation switching platform and contributed to Network Admission Control technologies.

Next, at Redwood Systems, Amro worked as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the development of embedded system solutions for energy-efficient lighting solutions. Amro also architected and developed communication protocols and software systems for LED fixtures.

Amro then founded Handy Labs LLC in 2014 and developed iOS apps to meet various requirements in the smart device environment. Notably, they created an expense tracking app called PocketChange, which targeted travelers who rely on cash and multiple currencies.

Later, Amro joined Palo Alto Networks in 2012 as a Technical Lead, Principal Software Engineer, and Senior Technical Lead. In these roles, they led and mentored teams in building threat intelligence solutions and Layer 4 through 7 Security Solutions for Palo Alto Firewalls.

Finally, Amro currently works at Otter.ai as a Software Architect since 2020.

Amro Younes has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Queen's University. Before that, they earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Studies from Trent University. Amro also attended ACS Athens (American Community Schools) for an unknown duration, but no specific degree or field of study information is provided.
