Qingyuan Song

Data Scientist at Outreach

Qingyuan Song began their work experience as a Lab Assistant at Qilu Pharmaceuticals in 2013, where they conducted HPLC on sample drugs and analyzed chromatographs. They also maintained the condition of HPLC columns and experimental glassware.

In 2015, Qingyuan worked as a Program Developing Intern at Wiztek Science and Technology Co. Ltd., where they developed programs and web pages for managing the parking spaces of the city of Jinan, China. They used integration of JSF, Spring framework, and JPA to manage the data library.

Starting in 2016, Qingyuan became a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University until 2017.

In 2018, they joined the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth as a Graduate Research Assistant. In this role, they developed ML/DL-based pipelines for classifying patient characteristics and disease outcomes using clinical and medical image-based features. They also designed and conducted statistical studies to investigate the association between medical image features and clinical outcomes. Additionally, they processed, curated, and maintained clinical and medical image data for over 2000 patients.

During the same period at Dartmouth College, Qingyuan also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Applied Machine Learning. They designed code snippets, assignments, and class projects related to machine learning topics. They also held tutoring sessions and office hours to assist students with their coursework.

In 2022, Qingyuan worked as an Engineer - Data Science Intern at Outreach. They constructed a training dataset by extracting email texts and metadata from Databricks Lakehouse, designed a text preprocessing pipeline using POS-tagging and rule-based Regex, and developed an NLP model training pipeline for email classification.

Finally, in 2023, Qingyuan returned to Outreach as a Data Scientist.

Qingyuan Song's education history can be summarized as follows:

Qingyuan Song started their education at the University of Pittsburgh in 2011 and completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General in 2015. They then pursued a Master's Degree in Computational Biology at Carnegie Mellon University from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, Qingyuan Song obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Convolutional Neural Networks, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Introduction to Genomic Technologies.

After completing their master's degree, Qingyuan Song joined Dartmouth College in 2017 and is currently working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences, which is expected to be completed in 2023. They are also pursuing another PhD in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences at Dartmouth College, starting in 2017 and projected to be completed in 2022.

Based on the information provided, Qingyuan Song has primarily focused their education on biology, computational biology, and quantitative biomedical sciences.
