From 1989 to 1993, Alfonso studied Electronics & Telecommunications at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), obtaining a BSc degree.

From 1993 to 1996, they pursued a BSc degree in Aerospace Engineering at Saint Louis University.

Alfonso then attended the University of Leeds from 1996 to 1997, where they completed their MSc degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Continuing their studies at the University of Leeds, Alfonso obtained their PhD in Computational BioFluid Dynamics from 1997 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Alfonso also obtained certifications in different fields. Alfonso completed a course on Machine Learning from Stanford University through Coursera in June 2020. In August 2011, they obtained a certification in Master .Net Framework 4.0 from Brainbench.
