Jan Pipek

Jan Pipek has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jan currently works as a Data Scientist at Pace Revenue, beginning in March 2021. Previously, they worked as a Data Scientist at DT One from August 2019 to September 2020, where they contributed to open-source projects and gained expertise in Python, Pandas, and PostgreSQL. Before that, Jan worked as a Data Analyst/Scientist at Showmax from November 2017 to June 2019. Prior to their roles in data science, they were a Post-doc in particle transport Monte Carlo at INFN from September 2015 to August 2017. Jan has also worked as a Data acquisition developer at the Institute of Plasma Physics AS CR in Prague from 2012 to 2015 and as a Developer at Dial Telecom, a.s. from November 2006 to 2015. Additionally, they have experience as a Translator for various projects from 2002 to 2015 and as a Developer for the La Ngonpo multi-cultural educational project at the Multicultural Centre Prague from March 2010 to 2014. Jan briefly served as a Medical Physicist at Nemocnice Na Homolce in 2011. Overall, Jan brings a wide range of skills and expertise to their Data Scientist roles, including Python, Pandas, PostgreSQL, and experience in diverse industries.

Jan Pipek holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Medical Physics from the Czech Technical University in Prague. Jan pursued this degree from 2007 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (Mgr.) degree in Particle Physics from Charles University between 2001 and 2007. For their high school education, Jan attended Gymnázium Jana Keplera from 1993 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in Natural Language Processing Specialization from Coursera in November 2020 and Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in December 2018.
